Rogation Sunday

Blessing of the Waters  27th April 2008

There was a thunderstorm in the morning but  the sun came out for the Service of the Blessing of the Waters. After a short service in the church the procession led by the verger, choir, wardens, priest,  brownies and the congregation made their way to the quay. The British Legion brass band led the hymn singing, retired Chaplin to the Mission to Seafarers Keith Taylor gave the address then the Revd Helen Griffiss was rowed out in a rowing boat, she said a prayer and threw a Cross into the water.
